NUNAVIK:SARVAK Teaser

At the beginning of August 2012, Guillaume Lafelur, Adam Gendron-Mitchell and myself left Montréal bound for Nunavik on a paddling mission. During the 2 weeks we spent up there, we managed to bag a first descent on the magnificient Ford River, but also shared our passion for white water paddling.

Ford Expedition Annonce

In a few days from now, I'll be heading towards Nunavik with two of my best paddle mates. The goal is to run the Ford river, a never before ran tributary of the Georges River, south of Kangiqsualujjuaq. A 55km, 7 days self supported kayak expedition in the middle of the Great North. Upon return, we'll spend time teaching kayak to the locals in Kangiqsualujjuaq. This journey is without doubts going to be amazing!

Rouge Challenge Race 2012

On May 19th 2012, the second Kayak pour la Vie race was held on the Rouge River in Quebec. Thaks to JO and all rhe volonteers, the event was a success. This race is bound to grow and become a most attend event in the future.

TGC Dispatch 3

Everyday as human, we leave our trace everywhere we go. We all live in houses and drive some sort of road to get to places. All that we do leaves some sort of traces.
The Grand Canyon has a strict leave no trace policy. Everything that you bring has to come back, even garbages and human waste. Nothing gets left behind. Every turn on the river seems like you're the first one the take. This makes you think about the way we live and act in the normal life...
I think that people using the waterways in Quebec should get this kind of mind set. But, not only on the river but in their lives. Reducing the impact and thinking about the amount of waste you send to the landfill should become a priority.

Leaving, traveling, living out of your bag and paddling... These are all reasons why expeditions are so important to me. Expedition living gives you a unique insight in group dynamics and reasons why people like the lifestyle so much.

TGC Teaser

Here's a little sneak peek at the footage from the Grand Canyon. I am presently working on the first dispatch from the Grand! The theme will revolve around the lifestyle of expeditions.

TGC Dispatch 1

Here we are, the trip. Quitting what we all normally do, to go and experience 20 days off the grid. The Grand Canyon is one of the most popular sight in America. But, few people get to experience it from the bottom.
The Colorado river flows through this giant crack in the North American Basement. From Lees Ferry to Diamond Creek, 360 km of rivers and countless new experiences.
I can't wait to get going, to be on the move. I've packed, and repacked, and thought about what to bring and what to leave behind. Now we'll see if I made the right choices!
